PROBLEMS IN ESTABLISHING AUTHORITY FILE FOR NIGERIAN AUTHORS
Abstract
Nigeria, with around 400 languages and dialects, faces challenges in establishing a name authority file for authors. About 15% of these languages have been used in publications, with the National Bibliography of Nigeria listing 30 Nigerian languages. English is used as the official language and communication medium among different tribes. The National Library of Nigeria encourages collaboration between publishers and authors to discuss international standards and solutions. The author recommends adopting the French style of capitalizing the entry part of an author's name on the title page, ensuring author names are printed as such.PROBLE
