LEARNING RESOURCE UNIT: A NEW DIMENSION IN MEDICAL LIBRARIANSHIP IN NIGERIA
Abstract
The Learning Resource Unit at the Medical Library of the College of Medicine, University of Lagos was established in 1978 to supplement teaching and learning with visual aids. It functions include selection, acquisition, storage, and making hardware and software available to users. The unit includes a circulation desk, shelves for software storage, a playback room, two simulation rooms, and a large hall with 18 wet carells for individual studies. The unit offers various services and addresses various problems faced by its users.
